Noel’s Story
We were contacted by the officers of the 90th precinct regarding a young dog that was surrendered by her owner.
The officer reported that she was so emaciated her bones were visible, and she was understandably terrified.
Initially, the officers thought she was a puppy due to her size, but upon picking her up from the precinct, we discovered she had milk, which indicate she had recently given birth.
The officer spoke with his Sergeant, who revealed that the woman who brought her in claimed the dog was "too aggressive", which led her to abandon this innocent creature. Curiously, she was accompanied by a healthy male dog who was obviously “the dad”.
From what we understand, this poor mama was bred and used for profit, only to be discarded once her owner had finished exploiting her.
Despite her circumstances, she is a gentle sweetheart, though understandably scared. This situation is unacceptable and breaks our hearts, but we are relieved that we could save her.
We are grateful to the officers for reaching out for help; they made the right decision in this matter.
